The Stonewall Uprising, the 50th Anniversary, on exhibition June 25 - August 5, 2019
This exhibition, created by the non-profit Stonewall fifty-fifty including Maxwell Curator of Exhibits Devorah Romanek, is a commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, a galvanizing event in the struggle for LGBT+ civil rights. Included are a recounting of the Uprising, and of LGBTQ+ communities in New Mexico, on the Navajo Nation, and during the Harlem Rennaisance. The poster exhibition is on display in the Hibben Center for Archaeological Research, located south of the Maxwell. Hours are Monday - Friday 8 am - 5pm and by appointment.
