Maxwell Museum permanent, temporary, and online exhibitions and public programs educate, challenge, and inspire. The permanent exhibitions People of the Southwest and Ancestors explore our region’s—and humanity’s—deep history. Temporary and online exhibitions feature usually unseen portions of the Museum’s collections; explore New Mexico’s diverse communities and complex history; and, through the Current Issues in Anthropology Series, address timely contemporary themes around social justice, environmental threats and climate change, working to support the Museum’s vision to reconcile injustices, restore voices, and realize community.
