Join us for our annual auction preview and appraisal clinic. This year, we are adding a new event to the evening: a silent auction. The silent auction will help support the Maxwell Museum public programs and collections care and will include sculptures, textiles, jewelry, and other interesting items that will go to the highest bidder. See the items in the catalog above and if interested in purchasing one or several, simply email us before the in-person events at: maxwell@unm.edu

The silent auction will start on Friday from 5:00 pm - 7 pm and continue on Saturday at Prairie Star Restaurant from 11 am - 5:00 pm during the 14th Annual Navajo Rug Auction. The highest bidders on an item will be announced on Saturday and notified by email and phone.

The concurrent appraisal clinic on Friday will be run by R.B. Burnham & Company, experts who can help you learn the value of your native art. The $10 per item fee for an appraisal directly benefits the Maxwell.

Walk-ins are welcome but you can also schedule an appointment by calling: (505) 277-4405. Appraisals are first-come first-served and cost $10 per item (cash or check only). Virginia Burnham will also feature her Native American jewelry trunk sale.

So come and join us! We are relying on the Maxwell community and beyond for support. Lastly, if you have any items that you would like to donate to the silent auction, please email Julián A. Carrillo, Curator of Public Programs, at jac123@unm.edu.
