Timothy Wester

Mr. Wester is a RACC Certified Research Administrator employed with the University of New Mexico which awarded him the UNM Office of the Vice President for Research 2022 Outstanding Research Staff Award for Exceptional Support to Researchers. His years of experience in a research core office substantiate his expert leadership and technical guidance for sponsored research opportunities. He is an FAA certified, 14 CFR 107 Remote Pilot in Command licensed to operate unmanned aerial vehicles in the National Airspace System. He has logged thousands of manual and autonomous flying hours for aerial imagery, photogrammetry, remote sensing, and digital elevation models.

OCA uses GPS, GIS, and remote sensing for all the projects we perform each year. Remote sensing also has been a critical aspect of Cultural Resource Management for the discovery of archaeological sites and mapping of current ground surface conditions. OCA sees the development of in-house remote sensing expertise as an additional improvement in our spatial data collection sophistication which is crucial to keep OCA competitive with private sector archaeological firms.
